Deputy Top Commander: US Unable to Precisely Assess Iran’s Defensive Capabilities

The US spy agencies cannot understand the extent of Iran’s progress in defensive fields, Deputy Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri said on Monday.

“We can conclude from the news and information which are presented and released by the US bodies and influential people that the US military and intelligence bodies are not able to understand the depth of Iran’s defense capabilities,” Jazzayeri said.

He underlined that Iran enjoys an “active deterrence power” which chases any aggressor until annihilation or surrender.

Jazzayeri stressed that given the existence of evil enemies, Iran will continue progress in building different weapons and equipment to defend itself.

In relevant remarks on Saturday, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi underlined Iran’s huge progress in defensive fields, and said Washington doesn’t feel powerful enough to think of posing a threat to Iran, and is rather thinking of developing a deterrent power against Iran’s powerful military.

“During the years after the victory of the Revolution, the trend of enhancement of our defense power has always continued and with God’s help, our deterrence power today is not comparable to the past at all,” Admiral Fadavi said, addressing a forum in Tehran.

He added that Iran enjoys such a high deterrence power that the Americans have announced that “they are now seeking to develop a power which can deter Iran”.

Yet, the IRGC commander underlined the defensive nature of Iran’s military programs.
