Iran University to establish branch in Syria

 

Iran’s Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) will establish a branch in Syria to help promotion of post-graduate studies, a senior official said.

Iran’s Tarbiat Modares University is responsible for setting up a branch in Syria to help the Syrian graduate students to continue their education at home, Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mansour Gholami noted.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Chairman of Iran-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group Mohammad Hussein Ragheb al-Hussein.

The Iranian minister expressed the hope that the ground is prepared for establishment of Tarbiat Modares University’s branch in the war-torn country.

A number of Syrian students are studying in Iran and the country’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology is ready to help more Syrian students to enjoy post graduate studies.

Tarbiat Modares University is an exclusively post-graduate university with its main campus in Tehran, Iran. It was founded in 1982 and is consistently ranked among top universities in Iran. Tarbiat Modares University is the only exclusively graduate university in Iran and was founded to train university professors. Admission is through national level university exams and in most programs is limited to top performers.
