Lebanon grants visa waiver to Iranians

The Lebanese government has approved visa waiver for Iranian travelers visiting the country and the decision will enter into force in the near future.

Fadi Abboud, Lebanon’s minister of tourism said in an interview with Lebanon’s el-Horr radio station on Wednesday that visa requirement will be certainly waived for Iranians entering Lebanon, IRNA reported.

He added that Iranians were not only an important element of tourism in Lebanon, but also the main foundation of the country’s tourism industry.

The decision was first proposed by Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour in Wednesday session of the Lebanese Cabinet which subsequently agreed to waive visa requirements for the Iranian tourists.

Iranians accounted for the highest number of tourists visiting Lebanon in early months of 2011.
