US Troops Injured in Syria Base Attack: Pentagon Discloses Injury Severity

Eight American soldiers sustained injuries in a recent assault on a US-operated base in Rmelan, Syria.

Eight American soldiers were wounded in a recent assault on a US occupation base in Rmelan, Syria, the Pentagon has verified. Among the injuries were Traumatic Brain Injuries and smoke inhalation issues. The Defense Department has not disclosed the severity of these injuries, but monitoring is ongoing.

On Saturday night, an explosive-filled drone struck the base. So far, no organization has taken responsibility for the incident.

“After the attack, as a precautionary measure, eight service members were relocated to a different facility for thorough assessment. They were all treated for traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and smoke inhalation,” stated Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder during a press conference on Tuesday.

Ryder reported that three soldiers had resumed their duties, whereas the rest were still being monitored.

US bases in the region faced a growing number of attacks, primarily from the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, coinciding with the Israeli conflict in Gaza. The Iraqi Resistance considered these bases valid targets in solidarity with the Palestinian population, citing the extensive US support for the Israeli regime and the destabilizing influence of the US presence in the area.

The developments occur amidst clashes between Arab tribes and the US-supported Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in eastern Syria. Recently, Arab tribes initiated extensive assaults on the SDF positions along the eastern bank of the Euphrates in Deir Ezzor, protesting the US-imposed status quo in the area. In response, the SDF, with US backing, launched counter-attacks against the tribal forces.
