Iran Issues Stern Warning to US: Summons Swiss Envoy in Response to Trump Bombing Threat
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Switzerland's acting ambassador in Tehran to express its objection to the Israeli government's aggressive actions in the region, as well as to address Trump's threats directed towards the Islamic Republic.

On Monday, the Swiss diplomat, acting on behalf of Washington’s interests in Tehran, was called in by Issa Kameli, the Director General for the Americas Department at Iran’s Foreign Ministry. This summons occurred in the absence of Switzerland’s ambassador to Iran.
Kameli conveyed Iran’s formal protest to the Swiss envoy, addressing any acts of misconduct and underscoring the Islamic Republic’s commitment to respond decisively and swiftly to any potential threats.
An Iranian diplomat has strongly criticized and dismissed comments that incite tension, arguing that they violate international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
The Swiss envoy pledged to promptly relay Iran’s message to the United States government.
On Saturday, Trump stated that military action against Iran would be initiated if a diplomatic agreement with the United States is not reached.
In an interview with NBC News, Trump indicated that failure to reach an agreement could lead to military action, stating that “there will be bombing” if a deal is not made. Additionally, he vowed to impose “secondary tariffs” on Iran as a form of punitive measure.
In a statement on his X account on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned Trump’s explicit threat to “bomb” Iran, describing it as a challenge to global peace and security.
Baghaei condemned an open threat of “bombing” by a head of state against Iran, describing it as a shocking affront to the core principles of international peace and security.
