A U.S. F-18 warplane, valued at approximately $70 million, has reportedly sunk into the Red Sea following an attack on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier by Yemen’s armed forces. According to CNN and various other media sources, the incident led to one sailor sustaining minor injuries.

According to reports from the US Navy, an F-18 “Super Hornet” fighter jet has sunk to the depths of the Red Sea. This incident occurred when the aircraft fell overboard from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier during towing operations.

Reports indicate that the incident took place when the Truman aircraft carrier executed a sharp maneuver to evade incoming Yemeni projectiles in the Red Sea.

The navy reports that an incident occurred involving a crew member aboard a jet and another inside a tractor towing the aircraft.

According to US Army officials, both individuals successfully evacuated in time, with only one sustaining a minor injury.

Consequently, both the fighter jet and the towing vehicle went overboard.

On Monday, Yemen’s armed forces, under the control of the Ansarullah (Houthi) group, announced they had initiated a counteroffensive against an aircraft carrier using drones and missiles. This action was reportedly in retaliation to the recent deadly strikes targeting Sana’a and various other provinces.

In the latest reports from Yemen, the health ministry based in Sana’a confirmed a significant rise in casualties resulting from Sunday’s U.S. airstrikes targeting residences in the Bani Al-Harith district of the capital. The death toll has climbed to 12 civilians, among them women and children, while four additional individuals sustained injuries in the attack.

On Monday, a US airstrike targeted a detention center for African migrants in Saada City, northwest Yemen, resulting in the deaths of at least 70 civilians and injuring many more.
