Al-Nusra Terrorists Hand over Idlib Military Airport to Turkish Forces: Report

 

The Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) handed over an airbase in Idlib province in Northwestern Syria to the Turkish Army troops after arrival of Ankara forces and their allied militants in the province, a Kurdish media outlet reported Tuesday.

The Kurdish-language Hawar news quoted local sources as saying that the Al-Nusra Front has handed over Taftnaz military airport, known as one of the largest military helicopter bases in Northeastern Idlib, to the Turkish soldiers.

Hawar news further said that the Turkish army men entered the base without any clashes, announcing the base a Turkish military airport after deployment.

In the meantime, media activists said that the Turkish forces are about to do the same with Wadi al-Zeif base and Abu al-Dhohour airbase in Idlib province.

The Turkish Army announced on Friday that it deployed forces and military equipment in Idlib province within the framework of Astana agreement.

The Turkish army announced that Ankara forces were deployed in monitoring checkpoints in the Northwestern Idlib province.

In the meantime, militant-affiliated websites reported that three military convoys of Turkish army vehicles entered territories on the opposite side of Afrin region in Northwestern Idlib.

The websites added that 50 military and armored vehicles arrived in Syrian territories.
