Al-Qaeda now America’s new junkyard dog: Analyst

365406_Qaeda-militantsThe terrorist al-Qaeda militants are pursuing US-led NATO’s interests and objectives in the Middle East, an analyst writes for Press TV.

“Today, America’s new ‘junkyard dog’ or ‘stationary aircraft carrier’ in the Middle East isn’t Israel. It’s al-Qaeda,” Finian Cunningham wrote in an article for the Press TV website.

He said the US prefers al-Qaeda’s “cheap and disposable fighters” to “worn-out veterans” demanding “medical care.”

“Despite the recent flurry of scandals and gnashing of teeth, America hates war veterans, members of the lower classes, noisy, demanding and potentially dangerous and unpredictable,” the analyst wrote.

Cunningham said the US is waging a “multi-front war” with the help of “jihadists from around the world” in an attempt to install its own stools in the Middle East.

“When al-Qaeda, real or imaginary, CIA/Mossad, or cave-dwelling masterminds, took to the world stage, whatever the stated goal, and nobody has been clear on that one yet, the end result has been debt,” he wrote.

Cunningham said the US is arming al-Qaeda militants with “guided missiles” and “supports their terror bombings in Syria and Iraq.”

He added that the ongoing presidential election in Syria “represents the most recent serious threat to NATO” plans.

“By all accounts, not only is Syria refusing to fall to al-Qaeda, derailing plans for a jihadist super-state answerable to the London-Tel Aviv-Zurich-Washington axis, the antithesis of this long established plot is looming on the horizon,” wrote Cunningham.

Eligible voters in Syria are heading to the polls to elect a president despite the foreign-backed militancy that has reportedly killed over 160,000 people since it erupted in the country in March 2011.
