Nuclear powers act in contravention of NPT

Press TV has conducted an interview with Joseph Gerson, an author and activist based in Massachusetts, to discuss the ongoing rift between Washington and Moscow over the US deployment of nuclear weapons in Europe.

Gerson says that United States is not alone in violating the NPT as we have reached a point where all nuclear powers are either testing nuclear warheads or their delivery systems and also spend billions of dollars on maintaining their arsenals.

The activist went on to say that a new era of confrontation has begun between Washington and Moscow over NATO and its expansion. According to Gerson, the expansion started during the presidency of Bill Clinton, although his predecessor George H. Bush had promised Mikhail Gorbachev that it will not happen.
