Ayatollah Safi Golpaigani calles on Iraqis to preserve unity

One of top Islamic Jurisprudents Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaigani urged Iraqi people and Muslims in this country, from different Islamic denominations and sect to preserve their unity, teaming up against the extremist groups, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The grand Ayatollah in his newly released message to Iraqi people voiced his sad feeling toward the recent massacure and vandalism in Iraq, urging this nation to make a move in stopping Takfiri militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in fulfilling their malignant aims.

Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaigani underlined through using tact, prudence and by being resistant this recent sedition will be foiled.

The Takfiri militants have so far captured several areas including the Nineveh provincial capital Mosul, along with parts of Kirkuk province as well as the areas of Siniyah and Sulaiman Bek, located north of the capital Baghdad.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has asked the UN, the European Union, and the Arab League to help the country fighting the terrorists.
