‘Imam Hussein uprising revived spirit of freedom and justice’

Iran’s Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani, who had attended the huge and glorious mourning ceremonies, marking the martyrdom anniversary of the Third Infallible Heir of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny), Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him), and his 72 steadfast companions, in the city of Zanjan on Sunday, told the reporters that Imam Hussein’s uprising enlivened the spirit of freedom and justice, and paved the way for prosperity of people.

According to IRIB World Service, citing ISNA, Majlis speaker went on to underline that Imam Hussein’s uprising conveyed the message of steadfastness against injustice to mankind and freedom-seekers across the world.

Moreover, Larijani pointed out that gatherings such as the mourning ceremonies of Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him) enhance solidarity among people, and reinforce emotional and social bonds among them.

Furthermore, the Majlis speaker said the mourning ceremonies in Zanjan are the manifestation of Iranian nation’s unflinching determination in standing up against the Global Arrogance.

Every year, on the 8th day of the holy month of Mohram, masses of mourners of Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him) attend the Husseiniyeh of the city of Zanjan, commemorating the anniversary of martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his 72 steadfast companions.
