Indiana University tweets alert over gunman approaching

The Indian University has urged students to “take safe shelter” after a gunman is seen running towards the school.

“IUPUI Alert! A subject with a gun has been reported running toward campus from the 700  Blake. Take safe shelter. Lock door. Follow official,” the school said in a tweet.

“Suspect is a black male, 6’3-6’4″ with a black hoodie, blue jeans and a hat with yellow writing,” the school subsequently said.

In a later tweet, it added that the incident “began as an armed robbery,” adding, “police continue to chase leads.”

There were no injuries reported in the robbery as the suspect(s) seemed to be still on the loose.
