Syria Wants her Sons to Return Home: Dr. Mikdad

Syria is surprised about the existence of some Syrians, victims for blackmail as to create a problem, who left their houses and went to Turkey, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minster said.

In a speech On the International Refugee Day, organized here yesterday by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Affairs, Mikdad added that Syria, Government and People, want her sons to return home as soon as possible, asserting that the Government is working to secure a peaceful and secure return for them providing free-of-charge transport means and cooperating with the International Red Cross and all UN affiliated organizations to secure a dignified return for them.

Dr. Mikdad pointed out that Syria has been facing across history refugees crisis citing the presence of about half a million of the Palestinian refugees in Syria since 1948, a million of the Iraqis, not to mention our Syrians from the occupied Syrian Golan since 1967.

Dr. Mikdad spoke of Syria’s humanitarian efforts to host such great numbers of refugees regardless of the international community inability to offer assistance as to help in hosting them.

‘Syria, further, provided free-of-charge land, sea, and air transport for more than 37 thousand Syrians working in Libya without resorting to international organizations,” Mikdad declared while some governments ask for assistance!

A Film entitled ” United Overseas”, describing the life of Iraqi refugees in Syria, was screened on the occasion. An exhibition entitled ” United in Arts” organized by 19 Syrian and Iraqi Refugees Artists was also inaugurated.
