Iran offers condolences to Argentina over devastating flooding

Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has extended his condolences to Argentina over the death of people in the recent flash floods in and around Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.

According to Press TV, in a message to Argentina’s Foreign Minister Hector Timerman on Friday, Salehi announced Iran’s readiness to send humanitarian aid to the people affected by the disaster.
At least 54 people have lost their lives and tens of thousands have been left homeless and without power after one of the heaviest storms recorded in the country caused flash floods in Buenos Aires and nearby La Plata on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The downpour knocked out power and phone lines and disrupted services, closing schools and local government offices.
Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner made a surprise visit to the region on Wednesday to survey the devastation in person.
