Iran: US trying in vain to save Zionist Israel

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has cautioned regional countries against deceitful schemes hatched by the United States to save the Israeli regime and boost its own economy.

Zionist Israel is the “biggest danger” to regional countries. Efforts should mainly focus on setting limitations on the fake Israeli regime, said President Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Tehran on Monday.

“Any measure adopted in line with objectives of the regime will mean suicide,” he added.

He called on regional countries to be cautious about conspiracies by foreign powers to meddle in their domestic affairs, saying their interference would harm the entire region.

The Iranian president pointed to the recent developments in the Middle East and North Africa and added all regional nations should enjoy equal rights and security.

No power can deprive regional nations of freedom and the right to vote, Ahmadinejad stated.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that all regional governments have the capability to administrate their countries through making reforms and meeting demands of their people,” the Iranian chief executive said.

He noted that Iran and Turkey play a “very sensitive and influential” role in Middle East developments and added that the two countries can adopt major measures to serve the interests of the two nations and the region’s people.

The president said that close Tehran-Ankara relations and the progress made by regional countries have irked enemies.

The Turkish minister, for his part, said Iran and Turkey shoulder a heavy responsibility to settle crisis in the Muslim world and establish sustainable security.

He called for making use of Iran’s determining role to resolve problems in the Middle East.

Davutoglu arrived in Tehran on Sunday as part of his tour of the Middle East, which has already taken him to Egypt, Libya, and Saudi Arabia.

The Turkish foreign minister is also scheduled to travel to Syria and Jordan during his regional tour.
