Iranian Envoy: Resistance against Israel Only Way to Liberate Occupied Lands

Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi underlined the importance of the anti-Israel resistance for defending the region against Zionist aggressions.

Roknabadi made the remarks addressing a group of professors, officials and students of the Management and Economics College of Lebanon University in the Southern Nabatieh city on Tuesday on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Southern Lebanon from Israeli occupation in 2000.

“The victory of resistance in 2000 is not only regarded as Lebanon’s victory, but also a triumph for all Muslims and the world’s oppressed people,” the Iranian envoy said.

He noted that not only the Israeli army was defeated in 2000, but the Zionists’ plots also failed.

Roknabadi pointed to Israel’s heavy defeat in Southern Lebanon, and said, “An army which considered itself as unbeatable came to its knees against the will of the brave men of Lebanon’s resistance …”

“With this victory the strategy of resistance was set as the only way for liberation of the occupied territories and it proved that dialogue and negotiations with the Zionist enemy is useless while there is no way other than resistance for the liberation of the occupied territories,” the Iranian envoy said.

In similar remarks last week, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stressed the importance of resistance for defending the region against Zionist aggressions, and praised the power of the anti-Israel resistance front in the region.

In separate messages to his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri and Secretary-General of Lebanese Hezbollah Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, Larijani congratulated the Lebanese nation, officials, and Hezbollah on the anniversary of the liberation of Southern Lebanon from Israeli occupation in 2000.

In a message to Nasrallah, Larijani hailed the courage of the Lebanese resistance fighters in driving away the occupying forces of Israel from the Lebanese soil, and added, “This awe-inspiring victory showed the importance and role of resistance in the political scene of Lebanon and the region.”

The resistance front against Israel is now stronger than ever, while the Tel Aviv regime is in a shaky position, he underlined.
