Iranian planes make emergency landing

Two Iranian passenger airplanes bound for Dusseldorf and Stockholm have made emergency landings in Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport in Turkey due to technical problems.

“One of the airplanes, an Airbus A300 carrying 209 passengers and 18 crews bound for Dusseldorf, sought permission for emergency landing in Istanbul’s airport after entering Turkey’s airspace,” Iranian Consul General to Turkey Mahmoud Heidari said on Thursday.

The plane, which its left engine had caught fire, landed in Ataturk Airport this morning, IRIB reported,

The other plane that was on its way to Stockholm, also had to make an emergency landing in Istanbul because of technical problems.

“The two airplanes will be on their way after final examinations,” Heidari said, adding that all passengers and crew members are safe.
