Syrian Army Liberates New Regions in Last ISIL Bastion in Deserts of Sweida

The Syrian army continued cleansing operations against the ISIL in the Eastern Badiyeh (desert) of Sweida in the terrorists’ last strongholds, foiling their attempts to break the siege on Toloul al-Safa region.

The army forces engaged in clashes with the ISIL terrorists in Toloul al-Safa on Thursday, regaining control of new areas near Qabr Sheikh Hossein strategic region.

Meantime, the army’s air force and artillery and missile units targeted ISIL’s positions in Qabr Sheikh Hossein region.

Also, field sources reported that the army troops could advance nearly 1km in Qabr Sheikh Hossein region.

The Syrian army soldiers also repulsed an attack by the ISIL terrorists to break the siege on Toloul al-Safa region from the Eastern front, killing a number of militants and destroying one of their bomb-laden vehicles.

In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Syrian army continued hunting the remaining pockets of ISIL terrorists in the Eastern desert of Sweida, imposing control over more strategic points.

The army men stormed ISIL’s strongholds in the depth of the desert of Sweida and captured several hills in the rocks.

Other units of the army drove ISIL out of more areas in Qa’a al-Banat in Toloul al-Safa.

In the meantime, field sources said that the army seized military control over Qabr Sheikh Hossein region after its advances in Western, Northwestern and Southwestern Toloul al-Safa.

The sources further said that ISIL front is on the verge of full collapse as its supplying lines in Toloul al-Safa have been cut off by the army.
