Iranian Top Commander Calls “War Inevitable”, But Mentions No Date, No Place

Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Saturday enemies will no doubt wage a war on Iran, although he didn’t mention any warring side, date or place for such a war.

“War with Iran will happen anyway although its date and place is not clear,” Jafari said in Tehran today.

Major General Jafari didn’t mention any specific country as the warring side in such a battle, but Israel has recently intensified war rhetoric against Iran, alleging that a blitzkrieg on Iranian nuclear facilities would be imminent.

The US has also always underlined that military option is always on the table.

Meantime, Jafari reiterated that the war on Iran would more likely be a missile and air offensive. “No one dares to wage an extensive ground assault on Iran.”

He, meantime, warned enemies, specially the Zionist regime, against the dire consequences of invading Iran, and said, “The Zionist regime should know that if it starts something, that will be the point of their annihilation and the endpoint of their story.”

The General said if the enemy were wise, there wouldn’t be any problem, “but the problem is that there is no guarantee for this rationality and this war might happen and we should be ready,” the IRGC General concluded.

Israel and its close ally the United States accuse Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations. Both Washington and Tel Aviv possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads.

Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

The Zionist regime has recently intensified its war rhetoric against Tehran, warning that it plans to hit Iranian nuclear facilities.

Iran has, in return, warned that it would target Israel and its worldwide interests in case it comes under attack by the Tel Aviv.

The United States has also always stressed that military action is a main option for the White House to deter Iran’s progress in the field of nuclear technology.

In response, Iran has warned it would hit the US, Israel and their worldwide interests and close the strategic Strait of Hormuz if it became the target of a military attack over its nuclear program.

Strait of Hormuz, the entrance to the strategic Persian Gulf waterway, is a major oil shipping route.

In relevant remarks on Thursday, Commander of Tehran’s Corps General Mohsen Kazzemeini said that any Israeli aggression against Iran would trigger an Iranian operation whose objective would be conquering Beitol-Moghaddas (Jerusalem).

“If the Zionist regime embarks on a strategic mistake and initiates an action against our country, we will respond to them with the ‘Towards Beitol-Moghaddas’ Operations,” General Kazzemeini said.

He further pointed out that the IRGC plans to stage military drills this week under a similar name, Towards Beitol-Moghaddas.

“They know that Iran’s military forces and Basijis (volunteer forces) are fully ready for defense and the Basijis will display this preparedness in their massive exercises that will be staged in Tehran next month,” the Commander added, noting another series of exercises to be conducted by Tehran’s Basij troops early in October.
