HAMAS Leader Meshaal meets Al-Arabi in Cairo

Hamas leader Khaled Mishaal met the Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Arabi in Cairo on Thursday evening and discussed Palestinian national reconciliation and the conditions of the refugees in Syria.
Mishaal affirmed that the Palestinian, Egyptian and Arab political leaders, who met in Cairo during the past two days, had agreed to reactivate the 2011 deal and complete the Palestinian reconciliation process.

The Hamas leader thanked Al-Arabi for his efforts and added that there is no fear that previous failures will be repeated, as the current atmosphere, especially after the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza, is favorable for the achievement of the reconciliation.

For his part, Al-Arabi said, in a joint press conference after the talks, that he was optimistic that implementation of the 2011 Egyptian-sponsored reconciliation deal between Hamas and Fatah would be completed.

The Arab League will be supporting the Palestinian reconciliation, which will strengthen the Palestinian position domestically and internationally, he said.

Khaled Mishaal had phoned al-Akdhar al-Ibrahimi, the Arab UN envoy to Syria, and demanded him to provide the protection and help for the Palestinian refugees in Syria.
