“Iraq Gov’t,nation will never forget Iran’s role in anti-terror fight”

In a meeting with visiting Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, President Masum said Iraq has not forgotten Iran’s support for the country in its fights against terrorist groups and Daesh and today it needs Iranian cooperation in its reconstruction era.

Referring to numerous areas of cooperation between the two neighboring states, Masum said Iraq welcomes the Islamic Republic’s investments in economic projects in his country and favors a bigger role to be played by the Iranian private sector in this regard.

Cooperating with neighboring and friendly countries is Baghdad’s priority, President Masum said both countries’ relationship has been founded on the basis of mutual interests and that Iraq will never participate in any actions against its neighbors.
