Saudi Arabian government has launched destruction of ancient Islamic monuments in order to center its current regime as legitimate.
Destruction of Masjid al-Nabawi has such extreme dimensions that the Prophet’s house and tomb have been subject to demolition. Saudi Grand Mufti believes that preservation of Islam’s holy places is infidelity to God, and endorses their demolition.

The reality is that destruction of ancient mosques and monuments with more than 1000 years of history demonstrates the righteousness of the Prophet’s true followers.

British Independent daily had published a report in October 2012, ‘Medina: Saudis take a bulldozer to Islam’s history,’ where the report said that Saudi regime flattened the Islamic sites in Mecca and Medina to expand the Masjid al-Nabawi and increase its capacity to 1.6m people and build luxury hotels and shopping malls.

The report said that even “Other historic sites lost include the Prophet’s birthplace – now a library – and the house of his first wife, Khadijah, which was replaced with a public toilet block.”

The report also said that “Of the seven ancient mosques built to commemorate the Battle of the Trench, only two remain. Ten years ago, a mosque which belonged to the Prophet’s grandson, Imam Ali mosque, Prophet’s daughter, Hazrate Zahra’s house, and Selman’s (loyal follower of the Prophet) had been dynamited,” and a large mosque without any historical significance has been built.

The report also said that “The Washington-based Gulf Institute estimates that 95 per cent of the 1,000-year-old buildings in the two cities have been destroyed in the past 20 years.”

Saudi measures are much similar those of Israel in demolition of Palestinian historical sites to wipe out any historical trace of Palestinians in the Territories.
