ISIS attempt to advance towards strategic city in Deir Ezzor fails

ISIS once again attempted to breakout of the Badiya Al-Sham region and reach the strategic city of Al-Mayadeen in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

However, the Islamic State assault would fail again, as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) were able to drive back the encroaching terrorists before sunrise on Saturday.

According to a military report from the region, the Syrian Army and NDF troops stationed in the Badiya Al-Sham region gave up no territory to the Islamic State terrorists, who attempted to take advantage of the poor weather in the desert.

With a large number of reinforcements arriving in the Badiya Al-Sham region, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies are now preparing to launch a big offensive to clear this large Islamic State pocket once and for all.
