Syria Grand Mufti: Syrian nation will not submit

Top Syrian scholar addressed upcoming Geneva meeting on the situation in Syria saying that we will attend Syria to voice our message that “We will not submit”.

On the sideline of 27th International Islamic Unity Conference, Sheikh Ahmad Badr el Din Hassoun, Senior Mufti from Syria in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) said, “We will attend Geneva conference to announce we are the true winners.”

Syrian cleric referred to the role of Islamic Republic of Iran in Geneva conference on Syria and said,” This conference is the victory of Iran and Syrian nation.” And added,” We will attend Geneva Conference not as an attempt that they recognize us rather to say that they cannot ignore us.”

He said,” We will participate in Geneva Conference to tell them that we are the true winners because the same way that Iran was the winner in its nuclear talks we will be the victorious side in Syria conference.”

He referred to Takfiri activities in Syria and stressed, Takfiri groups and their fatwas are not new rather they have recently been recognized and supported through arms and funding sent by the organizations in western and Arab countries.”

Sheikh Hassoun stressed,” The minor disagreements among Muslims are merely illusions that are imposed on Muslims by the enemies and a conference is not for bringing them to talks or fighting with them or even killing them, same way that they kill us because if we do so we will stand in the same line that they are taking.”

He added,” This is our message: If you excommunicate us, we will not do so or if you fight with us we will never fight with you.”
