CWNPO praises Iran for effective cooperation

Referring to Tehran’s positive and constructive approach, Managing Director of Chemical Weapons Non-Proliferation Organization in Berlin on Monday praised Iran’s effective cooperation with his affiliated organization.

According to IRNA, Ahmad Uzumju made the comment on Monday evening in a meeting with visiting Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad-Mahdi Akhoundzadeh, further reiterating, “Iran is a very active and effective member of the CWNPO.”
Uzumju who had visited Iran two years ago and had meetings with the Iranian victims of the chemical weapons said, “I was deeply influenced meeting those victims and therefore I have been spending all my efforts aimed at serving such victims.”
The Iranian deputy FM, too, who is in Berlin to attend the 17th Annual Conference of the CWNPO Member Countries, which is to be held in Hague emphasized, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to its vowed responsibilities under the Chemical Weapons Non-Proliferation Convention.”
Akhoundzadeh reiterated, “We, as the greatest victim of chemical weapons, side by side with the international community, ask for having a world free from threats, production, and usage of the weapons of mass destruction (WMD), including chemical weapons.”
