The militant groups, operating in the Southern neighborhoods of Dara’a city, suffered a heavy death toll after the Syrian Army pounded their strongholds on Monday, city sources said.

“The army attacked the militant gatherings in Southern part of al-Abbasiyeh and on the road connecting al-Sa’ad and the meteorology department in Dara’a al-Balad, killed several terrorists and destroyed their military hardware,” the sources said.

“Al-Manshiyeh and al-Nazehin camp in Dara’a al-Balad were also the scenes of heavy clashes between the Syrian government forces and the militant groups, which claimed the lives of several militants,” the sources said, adding, “Scores of the militant were killed or wounded after the Syrian army targeted a depot of their weapons and military hardware East of the Old Customs Building.”

“Vehicles of the militant, carrying weapons, food stuff and fresh forces, came under the army attack on a road connecting al-Abbasiyeh and the meteorology department in Nazehin camp in Dara’a al-Balad,” the sources further said.

Sources said on Sunday that the Syrian army troops targeted the concentration centers of the al-Nusra Front in one of the main neighborhoods of the Southern city of Dara’a, and inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists.

“Concentration centers of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front were massively attacked by the Syrian soldiers in the Sothern part of Busra square and in al-Abbasiyeh and al-Karck in Dara’a al-Mahatta neighborhood, “the sources said.

“Nusra militants’ military equipment and vehicles sustained major damage as a result of the army’s attacks,” the sources went on to say.
