The Syrian state has accomplished the first stage of presidential elections that took place in Syrian embassies around the globe which, he said, has witnessed a high turnout of 95 percent, with all the measures inside the country adequately prepared for the big day.

Voting in presidential elections took place in Syria’s embassies abroad on May 28. The Syrians inside are due to cast their ballots on June 3.

An anticipated success of presidential vote, coupled with an accelerating pace of national reconciliations and army gains on the ground will carry Syria to a new stage of recovery and reconstruction, he premier pointed out.

Al-Halqi referred to a recent visit of the DPRK delegation to Syria and its signing a raft of agreements, with the intent to broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation.

The government has taken a slew of measures to strengthen national economy, monitor exchange rates and curb rising prices, al-Halqi said.
