NATO drone crashes in Afghanistan

A NATO unmanned plane has crashed in southern Lugar province of Afghanistan, Afghan officials say.

Din Mohammad Darvish, a spokesman for the provincial governor, told Press TV that the incident took place on Monday morning.

According to the spokesperson, the incident took place due to technical problems.

Taleban spokesman Zabihollah Mojahed, however, claimed that the militants shoot down the unmanned plane.

US forces are using hundreds of drones for espionage and airstrikes in Afghanistan.

Drone strikes have repeatedly claimed the lives of civilians in the war-torn country.
