Iranian Parliament Speaker Larijani: All-Out Attacks on Gaza Signify Israel’s Isolation

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that the Zionist regime of Israel’s onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip demonstrates that the regime is politically isolated, and called on Muslim nations to take practical move to support Palestinians.

Speaking in a phone conversation with the President of Jordan’s National Assembly Taher al-Masri on Saturday, Larijani condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, and stated, “The savage acts of the Zionist regime in its all-out sea, ground and air assault against the defenseless people of Gaza reveal the utmost political isolation of this vicious regime.”

He called on Muslim to support Palestinian people, and stated, “Today the people of Palestine and Gaza need the help and support of the Islamic countries more than any other time.”

Masri, for his part, stated that the situation is now more dangerous for the Palestinians than it was before.

Also on Friday, Larijani in separate phone contacts with his Muslim counterparts as well as international figures discussed the new Israeli onslaught against Palestinians, and urged Muslims to show proper reaction to the Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Larijani held separate telephone talks with his counterparts from Lebanon, Algeria, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Tunisia on Friday and urged parliaments of the Islamic countries to take action to condemn the crimes.

He also hold phone talks with Anders Johnsson, the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and described the Israeli attacks against the people of Gaza as “shameless and deplorable”.

Larijani also called on the Islamic countries to take practical measures against the attacks in a telephone conversation with Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of OIC member states Erol Kilic.

Over 48 Palestinians have been killed and more than 510 others injured in the new wave of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since Wednesday.
