Clouds delay Endeavour launch

A cloudy sky has delayed the launch of the space shuttle Endeavour, scheduled to install new modules on the International Space Station.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) postponed the Endeavour launch on Sunday after low clouds descended over the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

“We just were not comfortable with launching the space shuttle tonight,” Reuters quoted launch director Mike Leinbach as saying. “It’s just too dynamic.”

Endeavour, which was set to carry six astronauts on a 13-day mission to the International Space Station, where they were to install two new modules.

The next opportunity to launch the shuttle would be on Monday at 4:14 a.m.
