Another Senior Terrorist Commander Assassinated in Idlib

A notorious commander of Syria’s Tahrir Front was assassinated by unknown assailants in Idlib amid intensified infighting among rival groups in the province.

Abu Khaled Mashoun, a senior commander of Ahrar al-Sham affiliated to Syria’s Tahrir Front, was gunned down by unidentified attackers near the town of Talmanes, local sources said.

The sources noted that a number of terrorists were killed and wounded as a result of an explosion in a region located between Jisr al-Shighour city and al-Qaderiyeh village Southwest of Idlib.

The clashes between terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham and ISIL near the town of Sarmin in South-East Idlib also left casualties on both sides.

This is while the number of blasts and infighting among terrorist groups, as well as assassination attempts has infuriated the residents of the region.

In a relevant development on Thursday, hundreds of civilians staged protest rallies in Idlib as infighting among the terrorist groups and their assassination operations against each other have widely increased insecurity in the province.

Local sources in Idlib reported that over 500 civilians poured to the streets in Idlib city in Northern Syria on Thursday to protest at the terrorist groups’ acts and severe insecurities in the region.

Meantime, sources reported that a field commander of Faylaq al-Sham terrorist group, affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA), named Abdollah Batal, was killed after a bomb was detonated in his car between the villages of Arab Saeed and Mourin in Western Idlib.

Reports also said that heavy clashes have erupted between unknown assailants and security forces affiliated to Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in the Central hospital of Idlib.

Also, a bomb went off in the town of al-Dana in Northern Idlib. There has been no report on the number of casualties and no one has claimed responsibility for explosion yet.

In a relevant development last Tuesday, a notorious commander of Tahrir al-Sham was killed by unidentified attackers in Idlib province amid intensified infighting among rival militants in the region.

Unknown assailants opened fire at the vehicle of Abu Ja’afar al-Janoubi, a notorious Tahrir al-Sham commander, in the town of Saraqib, killing him.

In the meantime, Tahrir al-Sham militants engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL terrorists in the town of Kafr Nubl in Southern Idlib, inflicting several casualties on both sides.

Also, a number of terrorists were killed or wounded in a blast along a road to the town of Darkoush and the village of Zerzour in Western Idlib.
