Iranian Intelligence Ministry announces arrest of BBC-affiliated network

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says it has uncovered the greatest network related to Western media in the framework of its duties and responsibilities to block any infiltration by the enemies to Iranian affairs.
The statement, a copy of which has been sent to Mehr News Agency, writes that the Ministry has been monitoring the network, established and operated by British organization of psychological war (BBC) in cooperation with some foreign countries, drawing upon experiences from 2009 urban unrests.

The report also says that the network which has been multi-layered, used specific facilities to send and receive news, and received guidelines from foreign agents, has been monitoring by the intelligence agents of Iran.

With identification of internal links and agents abroad and collecting information and legal documents complete, the Ministry launched legal action against the network. The Ministry announces the following necessary to the public:

1. Due to critical status of the case and intelligence, legal, and security considerations, the collected data from detained individuals’ links to BBC are strong and undisputable in the court, and they are independent from the detainees’ confessions.

2. Due to ongoing nature of investigations in the future days, new agents would be arrested or those arrested before would be freed. So, the Ministry is confident that the operation will continue till the last individual in the network is arrested, and propaganda war by psychological war machines would not have the least effect on the will of Intelligence Ministry, and due processes would be implemented.

The statement also writes that it will provide important information on this case when needed.
