Imam Reza Shrine Mukibs in Full Swing to Serve Arbaeen Pilgrims

“Razavi Volunteers and Public Services Centers in different Iranian provinces are prepared to offer the best services to Arbaeen pilgrims,” Ahmad Mirzadeh, head of the Arbaeen headquarters, stated,

The 35 Mukibs in Iran are situated at 9 border crossings, including Shalamcheh, Chazzabeh, Mehran, Khosravi, Mir Javeh, and Rimdan, he said.

“In addition to serving Iranian pilgrims traveling to Iraq, these Mukibs welcome foreign pilgrims from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and (the Republic of) Azerbaijan, who are using land routes through Iran to reach Karbala,” Mirzadeh added.

Supporting the 55 Iraqi-held Mukibs along routes inside Iraq is one of the top priorities for the Imam Reza shrine, according to Mirzadeh.

He also highlighted the significance of the Mehran border crossing in Iran’s Ilam Province, stating, “Imam Reza shrine has established 4 Mukibs there to accommodate the needs of the numerous pilgrims crossing this border.”

Volunteers from various Iranian provinces, including Tehran, Alborz, and Khorasan Razavi, have collaborated to set up the Mukibs at the Mehran border.

“We anticipate a large turnout of pilgrims at the Mehran crossing, so we are preparing and distributing approximately 700,000 meals in these four Mukibs,” Mirzadeh concluded.

Arbaeen is a Shiite religious observance that takes place forty days after the Day of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hossein, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who was martyred on the 10th day of the month of Moharram.
