Sana’a warns of ‘greater strikes’ if UAE continues aggression against Yemen

The advisor to the prime minister of Yemen’s National Salvation Government has warned the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of greater strikes if it continues its involvement in the Saudi-led war on Yemen.

In remarks on Tuesday, Hamid Abdel Qader Antar said Yemen has a legitimate right to respond to any aggression, stressing that the blood of the Saudis and Emiratis is not more valuable than that of the Yemenis.

“The UAE will receive greater strikes from the Yemenis if it does not withdraw from the [Saudi-led] aggression,” Abdel Qader said, adding, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, and Yemeni blood is not cheap, and the blood of the Saudis and Emiratis is not more valuable than the Yemenis.”

The Yemeni advisor also said the baseless allegations that Yemen is using Iranian weapons are repeated by the “Saudi-American enemy, who wants to legitimize its occupation of Yemen, its islands, and its coasts.”

He added that Saudi Arabia and the UAE are implementing Washington’s project in the region.

According to Yemeni officials, since the beginning of January, attacks by the Saudi-led coalition waging war on Yemen have claimed the lives of at least 150 people.

In response, the Yemeni army has conducted fresh rounds of retaliatory operations against Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Most recently, the Yemeni forces carried out two retaliatory operations codenamed the “Yemen Storm 1” and “Yemen Storm 2,” striking targets deep inside Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the past week for Abu Dhabi’s increasing participation in the protracted war on the impoverished Arab country.

‘World recognizes legitimacy of Yemeni counterstrikes’

Yemeni Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah said on Tuesday that although some countries condemn Yemen’s response to the Saudi and Emirati attacks against Yemen for their own interests, the world recognizes the legal right of the Yemenis to respond to the aggressors.

Referring to the Operation Storm against the aggressors, Abdullah said despite the fact that the counter-attacks were faced with condemnations, the world knows that it was a legitimate response.

The countries that condemn the Yemeni military operations against the Emirati and Saudi aggressors know well that they took this position out of desperation and that their interests are linked with those of the aggressors, he stated.

“The Yemeni people no longer care as much about the condemnation of some as they do about the actual actions in response to the aggression,” the Yemeni foreign minister noted.

“To all those who threaten to put us on the ‘terrorism’ list, we say: A terrorist is someone who has been killing and besieging the Yemeni people for seven years,” Abdullah added.

Enjoying complete arms, logistical, and political backing from the United States, Saudi Arabia led many of its allies, chief among them the UAE, in a 2015-present invasion of Yemen. The war has been seeking to crush the Ansarullah resistance movement and reinstall the former Riyadh-friendly government.

The war has killed hundreds of thousands of Yemenis and turned the entirety of Yemen into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

However, the Ansarullah movement, which runs the National Salvation Government in Sana’a, has vowed not to lay down its arms until the country’s complete liberation from the scourge of the Saudi invasion.
