Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi denounced recent anti-Tehran remarks by the new secretary general of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, saying he should avoid engaging in a “blame game” about problems facing the Muslim world.

In a statement on Monday, Qassemi rejected Aboul-Gheit’s remarks on Iran as “hasty and unconstructive” and said he would be well-advised to take a closer look at the past record of the Arab League and avoid playing a blame game over problems facing the Middle East region and the Muslim world.
