Hezbollah: US complicit in Nasrallah assasination; American intelligence and missiles used in assassination

A high-ranking official from Hezbollah has accused the United States of direct involvement in aggressive actions against Lebanon, including an attempt on the life of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. The official emphasized that Washington has significantly intensified its intelligence activities against Hezbollah, increasing them tenfold over the last quarter-century. Despite these challenges, the resistance movement, according to the official, maintains its determination and is still equipped to effectively respond to occupying forces.

In a recent interview with Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network, Nawaf al-Moussawi, who oversees Hezbollah’s Resources and Borders File, underscored the involvement of the United States in both the decision and execution of the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Nasrallah. Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli missile strike in Beirut on September 27 of the previous year.

Moussawi emphasized that the missiles utilized in the attack on Nasrallah’s headquarters, situated in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district, were not among the weapons typically possessed by Israel. According to him, these missiles were specially procured for the purpose of this particular targeted assault.

A senior Hezbollah official has claimed that since the year 2000, U.S. intelligence activities targeting Hezbollah have escalated tenfold, surpassing those conducted by Israel. The official emphasized that the American intelligence efforts primarily align with and support Israeli interests.

In other statements, Moussawi acknowledged that Hezbollah had endured significant setbacks in its ongoing conflict with the Tel Aviv administration. However, he emphasized that the movement, along with the broader Resistance front, remains active and resilient.

The Resistance dealt substantial blows to the Israeli forces during the peak of the conflict, achieving notable successes, according to statements made recently. Highlighting one such achievement, a Hezbollah drone operation in Caesarea reached the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Hezbollah possesses the capability to launch strikes against Israeli forces if it addresses its current deficits, spokesperson Moussawi emphasized. He further highlighted that these deficiencies and gaps are considerable.

A Hezbollah official has stated that despite the occupying entity’s assertions of “success,” there is no tangible evidence to support its claimed achievements against the movement.

Moussawi announced that Hezbollah is presently undertaking an internal investigation concerning all security and military incidents that occurred during the recent conflict between Israel and Lebanon.

Since the escalation began in October 2023, approximately 4,000 Lebanese—predominantly civilians—have lost their lives, and more than one million individuals have been displaced from their homes.

In a significant escalation of tensions, Israel has reportedly carried out targeted assassinations against prominent Hezbollah leaders, including Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, who served as the chief of Hezbollah’s Executive Council. Several other commanders and fighters were reportedly among those targeted in this operation.

Hezbollah figures Nasrallah and Sefieddine were interred in Beirut on February 23 and 24. Thousands of mourners, both local and international, congregated in the Lebanese capital to pay their final respects.

The Lebanese resistance movement launched several retaliatory attacks on key Israeli targets in response to the aggression, utilizing all resources at its disposal.

Hezbollah has reaffirmed its commitment to resisting what it describes as Israeli occupation and aggression. Despite recent setbacks, the group maintains that these challenges only bolster its determination to counter what it terms as Israeli misconduct.
