Syria: Army Soldiers Enter Terrorist-Held Strategic Town in Northern Hama

The army troops started ground operation from several directions after the Syrian Air Force and the army’s artillery and missile units pounded Al-Nusra’s defense lines in Taybat al-Imam.

The army units, including hundreds of soldiers, managed to enter Taybat al-Imam form the Eastern direction of the newly-freed town of Souran and from the direction of Qamhaneh in the South.

Army commanders confirmed that the army men have entered Taybat al-Imam, adding that their units are now fortifying their positions in the town to drive the Al-Nusra from the remaining neighborhoods in the town in the next few hours.

They added that simultaneous with the army advances in Taybat al-Imam, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets carried out several combat sorties over the Al-Nusra positions in the villages and towns of Lahaya, Ma’arkabeh and al-Latamina in Northern Hama, killing and wounding a number of terrorists and destroying their equipment.

Informed sources said on Tuesday that the terrorists in Northern Hama issued distress calls to urge their peers to rush to their aid as they were being crushed by the Syrian army and popular forces,

The sources said that the terrorists’ front in Northern Hama was on the verge of collapse after the army captured several key towns and villages, adding that the terrorist groups were accusing each other of treason, while their leadership has been calling on allied militants in other regions to assist them to slow down the devastating advances of the army soldiers.

A field source said that bugged radio exchanges of the terrorists in Northern Hama displayed that the militants acknowledged defeat, adding that terrorist groups were accusing each other of inaction and believe that only six from a hundred groups have engaged in battle with the army.

The source further added that the bugged exchanges also showed that the terrorist groups in Northern Hama called on their allies to open a new front in other regions to decrease the pressure of the army attacks on them.
