Calm has prevailed in Syria: Iranian envoy tells Lebanese PM

Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi has expressed satisfaction with the current situation in Syria said that a calm atmosphere has finally pervaded in the country.

Roknabadi made the remarks in a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Beirut on Saturday.

Roknabadi also touched on the relations between Iran and Lebanon, and commented on the process of the implementation of the agreements signed between Tehran and Beirut.

He also briefed Mikati on the two conferences on Islamic awakening and Palestine’s Intifada which was recently held in Tehran.

Mikati, for his part, expressed hope that the agreements signed between the two countries would be implemented as soon as possible.

The Lebanese prime minister also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the two conferences were successfully held by the Islamic Republic in Tehran.
