Syrian Army launches retaliatory attack against Turkish-backed rebels in eastern Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a retaliatory attack against the Turkish-backed rebels near the key town of Al-Bab last night.

According to a military report, the Syrian Arab Army opened fire on the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front (NLF) along the Al-Bab-Tadef axis; this resulted in a short overnight battle.

The report said both sides suffered some casualties along this axis; however, the fighting would subside before dawn.

These clashes in the eastern countryside of the Aleppo province are rather rare due to the presence of Russian and Turkish troops in the Al-Bab countryside.

However, when these clashes do occur between the Syrian Army and Turkish-backed rebels, they are often short and not very costly.
