Syrian Official: Iran Seeking to End Mideast Conflicts

Prisoners' release tops Syria talks as al-Qaeda seeks unityA senior Syrian official underlined the positive role of Iran in putting an end to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East region.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking an end to the conflicts in the Middle East,” Bouthaina Shaaban, a Political and Media Advisor to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said on Thursday.

She underlined that Iran is trying to help Turkey to lessen its negative role in the Syrian conflict.

Shaaban noted that the Turkish government continues to support the terrorists operating inside Syria and allows them to sneak into Syria from Turkey to fight alongside foreign-backed militants.

She also pointed out that, “Saudi Arabia has no place in Syria’s future,” and Wahhabism has no future on regional and international levels.

Syria has been gripped by deadly crisis since 2011. According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies – especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey – are supporting the militants operating inside the country.
