Syrian Army keeps rolling in southern Damascus as ISIS clings onto last areas -map

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside their Palestinian allies, resumed their large-scale offensive in southern Damascus, today, striking the Islamic State’s (ISIS) positions inside the Yarmouk Camp and Hajar Al-Aswad.

Led by their 42nd Brigade (4th Division) and 105th Brigade (Republican Guard), the Syrian Arab Army continued their advance in northeast Hajar Al-Aswad this morning, liberating several buildings that were under the control of the Islamic State forces.

Meanwhile, at the Yarmouk Camp’s northwestern axis, the Syrian Arab Army and their Palestinian allies repeatedly hammered the Islamic State’s defenses with surface-to-surface missiles and artillery shells.

This powerful ground attack was combined with an intense air assault from their Russian allies, who launched over ten airstrikes over Hajar Al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp.

The Syrian Army’s 42nd Brigade and their Palestinian allies are now on the move in northeastern Hajar Al-Aswad, as they look to seal off this imperative town once and for all.
