The Guardian: Washington Considers Striking ISIL(!) in Syria, Iraq

The Guardian, a British newspaper, reported that Washington is considering the option of striking the garrisons of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) which is seizing more cities in Syria and Iraq.

Two Pentagon senior officials told the paper, on condition of anonymity, that US is now examining whether to involve its air force or its navy warplanes and the duration of the operation.

The Guardian pointed out that the US officials prefer involving the manned warplanes to drones.

Pentagon sources noted that striking ISIL in Syria is also being examined.

The sources added that the Pentagon will consult the Congress on the strike against ISIL.
