Israel’s closure of Gaza crossings worsens the humanitarian situation

Head of the popular committee against the siege Jamal Al-Khudari warned that Israel’s closure of Karam Abu Salem and Beit Hanoun crossings for the fourth consecutive day would aggravate the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

In a press release on Sunday, Khudari stated that Karam Abu Salem crossing is the only terminal used to transport basic supplies and raw materials and its closure means causing an economic crisis affecting all walks of life in Gaza.

He added that the closure of Beit Hanoun crossing also portends a humanitarian crisis because it would deprive dozens of Gazan patients from receiving medical treatment in the occupied territories.

Khudari noted that Israel pursues a mass punishment policy when it closes Gaza crossings and such act violates the international law.
