The Iraqi Air Force reportedly carried out a powerful airstrike above the strategic town of Hawija, killing the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) governor and 13 of his aides in the process.

“A source within the district of Hawija reported that a tunnel dug by ISIS had collapsed on them, killing the Governor of Hawija, Abu Nasser Al-Zubai, and 13 of his aides,” the official media page of the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) reported on Thursday.
