Two army members martyred, two officers wounded by armed terrorist groups who targeted military bus at Aleppo-Homs highway


Two army members were martyred and two officers were severely wounded at the hands of an armed terrorist group which targeted a military bus that was transporting a number of military officers and soldiers to their work posts, A military source announced Thursday.

The terrorists who are supported by US, France, ;Israel and their regional allies fired at the bus with machine guns and heavy weapons from the surrounding orchards along Aleppo-Homs highway near al-Rastan entrance, claiming the lives of Sergeants Issa Jawdat al-Ali and Wael Abbas al-Hussein and critically wounding Colonel Ghyath Abbas Akel and Major Maan Yousef.

“Any aggression on the army members and armed forces is an aggression on the homeland’ dignity, security and stability… the response will be decisive and firm to those who think to target our armed forces, the symbol of the homeland’s dignity and honor,” the source added.

Meanwhile, at Bab al-Sibaa in Homs, Captain Hayan Mahmoud Ibrahim, a police member and a civilian were martyred at the hands of the armed terrorist groups.

SANA Reporter in Homs said that 40 persons were wounded by the bullets of the armed groups at al-Mreija and Bab al-Sibaa neighborhoods, among them 32 law-enforcement members and 8 civilians.

The Army units interfered and sealed off the region to hunt the terrorist groups who attacked civilians, broke off roads in those neighborhoods and terrfied the citizens.

Major Maan Yousef said in a speech to the Syrian TV “We came under heavy fire near al-Rastan entrance… I tried to inspect the source of the fire, but I couldn’t because of the density of fire.”

One of the Army wounded members said “we were ambushed by an armed terrorist group while we were performing our duty at al-Qseir area, coming under heavy and random fire.”

Another wounded soldier added “I was hit by a bullet of a sniper at Baba Amrou neighborhood in Homs while I was on patrol to keep security and facilitate the movement of citizens and employees… the terrorist groups continued firing as from 4.30 a.m. till 10 a.m.”

A third wounded military member underlined that the terrorist organizations fired at the police and army forces from the roofs of homes, using different kinds of weapons.
