US allotted $80bn for its nuke arsenal

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the US has allocated $80 billion for upgrading its nuclear arsenal which shows its “double-standard” diplomacy towards nuclear programs.

President Ahmadinejad made the comments in an interview with the Fox News Channel on Friday, criticizing the West’s pressure on Iran over its peaceful nuclear program.

“The pressure comes despite the fact that Iran, unlike Israel, is cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” he added.

Referring to the massacre and suffering of hundreds of thousands of people of Afghanistan and Iraq due to US invasion of these countries on the pretext of fighting terrorism, Ahmadinejad said that Washington’s wrong policies have not only incurred irreparable damage to these countries, but they have also severely damaged the US economy.

He pointed out that the US invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan has spread terrorism throughout the Middle East region.

“After witnessing the US blind war in Afghanistan and Iraq, the international community has realized that these wars have only spread terrorism in the region,” Ahmadinejad added.

On Saturday, President Ahmadinejad departed from New York and headed back to the Islamic Republic of Iran. He attended the UN General Assembly annual summit at the UN headquarters in New York.
