6th Iran-UAE consular meeting begins
Representatives from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates have launched a sixth Joint Consular Meeting.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Qashqavi and Emirati Deputy Foreign Minister Tariq Ahmed al-Haidan inaugurated the event in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday, IRNA reported.
The meeting is planned to focus on a number of issues related to both countries, including visas, prisoners’ affairs, as well as customs and judicial issues.
A final agreement will be signed by the two deputy foreign ministers at the end of the two-day meeting.
The ambassadors of both countries are also participating in the meeting.
The fifth meeting of the Iran-UAE joint consular committee was held in Abu Dhabi in April.
The commanders of the two countries coast guard also held a separate meeting to discuss border security and other issues of mutual interest.
