US Senate slaps new sanctions on Iran energy, shipping

The US Senate has approved a new round of sanctions against Iran’s energy, ports, shipping and shipbuilding sectors in its latest effort to ratchet up economic pressure on the Islamic Republic over its nuclear energy program.
