Ceasefire comes into effect to end Israel’s latest aggression on Gaza

Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza have reported that a ceasefire has been agreed upon with Israel to put an end to the five-day-long attack by the Israeli regime against the coastal area.

At 10:00 pm local time (1900 GMT), a ceasefire mediated by Egypt came into effect, thus ending the Israeli aggression on the besieged territory which had caused the death of 30+ Palestinian civilians, including women and children.

Dawoud Shehab, the spokesman for Palestinian Islamic Jihad, confirmed that the organization has accepted the Egyptian announcement of a truce, stating that they will abide by it “as long as the occupation abides by it.”

Six children, three women and several Islamic Jihad commanders were among the victims of the most recent Israeli aggression against Gaza, which has left 150 others injured, most of them being women and children. This is according to Palestinian media.

The destruction of Palestinian homes resulted in the total destruction of 51 houses and made them uninhabitable, while approximately 1,000 other houses were partially damaged.

In a statement, the Joint Operations Room of Palestinian Resistance Factions declared an end to fighting, while also warning the Zionist regime against reverting back to their policy of assassinating resistance commanders.

“We remain armed and ready to act; if you come back, we will do the same.”

It was stated that the Palestinian resistance has the advantage of using force and deterrence, demonstrated by the hundreds of rockets and artillery shells that were fired at the enemy, causing destruction to their structures.

The determination to battle [Israel] will not be diminished. The adversary miscalculated when it assumed that the moment was advantageous for them and the opening was perfect to assassinate a gathering of resistance pioneers and after that end the clash rapidly and as indicated by its own craving.

The groups declared that the opposition to Israel will be revived after the dispute and that “the flags of resistance have not been and will not be lowered.”

The 2021 ten-day war between Gaza’s resistance factions and the Israeli regime was the most severe episode of fighting between the two sides since then.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh of Palestine implored the United Nations to take prompt action to halt the Israeli massacre.

Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh urged for a boycott of the regime in light of its horrendous acts of human rights violations, emphasizing that those behind the atrocities must be held to account.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday strongly denounced the Israeli regime’s massacre of civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip, calling it “unacceptable.”

Farhan Haq, the UN chief’s deputy spokesperson, stated that Guterres has called for an immediate end to the bloodshed caused by the occupying regime.

The spokesman noted that Israel must adhere to its responsibilities under international humanitarian law, including utilizing force in a balanced manner and taking every practical precaution to protect civilians and civilian assets while carrying out military operations.

Haq spoke out against the government’s closure of Gaza’s borders, blocking the entry of essential items such as food, medical supplies, and fuel into the besieged area.
