World sufferings rooted in selfishness: Iran President

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that the world sufferings are rooted in the selfishness of some unwise egoists.

Addressing people’s gathering in the western Iranian province of Hamedan, the President said the crimes being committed by the hegemonic powers and the Zionist regime are all as a result of their egoism.

‘Some in the US were behind the curtain and constructed a scenario called “September 11” in order to take control of the world nations.’

They used that scenario as a pretext to mount attack against Afghanistan and Iraq, underlined President Ahmadinejad.

He further said: “…but the world indentified the untruthfulness of the September 11 (attacks).”

The President arrived in Hamedan Wednesday morning on the fourth round of his provincial tours.

The initiative was taken by Ahmadinejad since he assumed presidency in 2005 to get acquainted with problems of people living in different provinces and make the government closer to the people.
